Description
Vintage original 26 x 39 in. "country of origin" Mexican posterfrom the 1960's vampire thriller
LE SANGRE DE NOSTRADAMUS
(
The Blood of Nostradamus
), released in Mexico in 1962 by Federico Curiel and Stim Segar. Vampire hunters track down a vampire (German Robles) and attempt to steal the ashes from his coffin in order to stop him from reviving nightly.
This vintage original poster, which was printed for the film's original theatrical release in Mexico, was
designed by Mendoza
and features his signature along the left border in the top half. The artwork features of Nostradamus, a vampire (
German Robles
), set inside of a large green eye, bearing his blood-dripping fangs as his face is lit by the light of a torch held by a hand with blood dripping from between the fingers. The various colors really make this poster a great piece of horror art. Folded as originally issued, this vintage original Mexican poster is unrestored in very good- condition only with separation along one-half of the top vertical foldline; a good-sized tear in the top left panel just above the vampire's image; and small tears along the crossfolds and signs of wear in the borders. This poster would look amazing if was linen-backed, as it is "all there" and the rich color tints are fresh and vibrant with no signs of fading and feature a rich "blood red"!
