    Description

    Authentic WWII era ship's masthead lantern. Manufactured by the Birmingham Engineering Company Ltd. in England in 1943. Two plaques on front of lantern. "Masthead Patt. 25A" and  maker's name and address. Made of steel and glass, In excellent vintage condition. Worn from use but no rust. Original wicks. No damage to glass. Maybe some brass. A great WWII era collectible for display. Not recently tested but years ago when I acquired it, it worked. Measures 16" H (incl handle) x 8" W x 8" D. Weight approx 10 lbs.
