    Note: I started a thread on the USMF on 12/17/2009, with questions about what Unit could actually be photographed in this picture. The 23rd Company, is the 6th Machine Gun Battalion. It appears the photographer might be the suspect of this Unit designation error... maybe a little to much schnapps. Most believe the patches are oval. There is also another photograph where the 23rd Co was crossed out and replaced with the 20th Co, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines...
