    Description

These bridges are from a large batch of parts we bought from a local music store that went out of business back in the 1980s. We were told then these parts were purchased from a Chicago wholesaler in the mid 1950s. These bridges with rounded edges, sometimes called "smile" design, were destined for Lyon & Healy ukuleles, or Lyon & Healy-built Washburn ukes. They appear to be made of light-colored tropical hardwood (morado?) and they have bone saddles. They would have been used on a concert or tenor ukulele. Lyon & Healy used these bridges on instruments in the 1920s and 1930s. They measure 4 1/4” long, 13/16” wide and 1/2” tall to the top of the saddle. The
bridges are unused but the do show some scuffs from having been stored for almost a century.
We ship on the Wednesday following the end of the Sunday auctions.
