HELLFIGHTERS linen Aust 1sh 1968 John Wayne as fireman Red Adair, Katharine Ross, very rare!
An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Australian One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 40" [69 x 102 cm]) and there is about an inch to a inch and a half boader of linen around the poster.
Hellfighters, the 1968 Andrew V. McLaglen oil well firefighter fireman rescue melodrama (loosely based on the life of oil field firefighter Red Adair, who became even more famous in the early 1990s for helping put out the massive oil well fires in Kuwait at the end of the first Gulf War!) starring John Wayne (as Red Adair; "The toughest Hellfighter of all!"), Katharine Ross (billed as "That 'Graduate' Girl"), Jim Hutton, Jay C. Flippen, Bruce Cabot, and Vera Miles ("as Madelyn")
THIS NOTE IS FROM THE AUCTION HOUSE THAT I BOUGHT THE POSTER FROM. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this Australian one-sheet, and the last one was 18 years ago! Also note that, while this poster was printed in Australia, it was specifically made to be used in New Zealand. This was not an uncommon practice and we have seen many examples. These posters often lack the printed rating which can be found on the Australian version of the poster.
Storyline
The telling of Chance Buckman an oil rig fire fighter who becomes hospitalized and has to come to grips with how his job interfered with his marriage, after being laid up in a hospital bed after an accident with a news man running in front of a bulldozer causing it to swirve into Chance, and forcing him to allow veteran oil fire fighter Greg, a cocky but knowledgeable Greg becoming his son in law and he has to learn tolerance for not being able to control his daughter wanting to visit oil fires and learn how to rekindle the spark that went out with his ex of more than 25 years and the fear of losing her daughter as well as her husband to the oil fighting.
DON'T BE FOOLED, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING;  AN ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTER IN THE FUTURE WILL BE WORTH MORE THAN A REPRODUCTION THAT WILL BE WORTHLESS!!
