2 WWI ERA PHOTO, 13 PILOTS NEAR PLANE SNOW, LIEUT. BETTIO 95TH PURSUIT SQUADRON. Here is a fascinating pair of early photographic images taken at the 95th Pursuit squadron I believe in Selfridge Field, Michigan. This fascinating group of photographs includes a group of pilots standing in front of a biplane on a snow covered lake, including the commanding officer who is not wearing flight suit, goggles or leather cap, and there is a photograph of lieutenant Bettio emerging from an aircraft with lieutenant Matthews looking on. This fascinating pair of photographs came from the estate of Robert C. Cohn, of Peoria, illinois, who is either involved in experimental aircraft at the buildup of wwi, or was involved in the actual World War I theater. This fascinating pair of photographs give an interesting look into the early days of aeronautical navigation, testing of aircraft, especially in the frozen snow covered fields of Michigan, and of lieutenant betty, a celebrated air pilot in World War i. Please review photos. Fascinating pair of photographs, reflecting age, but still a great pair of photographs, a great addition to your world war one WWI era experimental biplane or warplane photographic document history collection, or lieutenant Bettio, celebrated air pilot photographic image memorabilia collection.
